The Yala National Park [YNP] is easily one of the most visited National Parks in Sri Lanka. It is the second largest National Park in Sri Lanka. The YNP consists of five blocks, out of which Block I & Block V are open to the public. It is located in the southeast region of the country, and lies in the Southern Province and Uva Province. YNP is about 97,880.70 hectares in magnitude & It belongs to two main districts in Sri Lanka, Hambantota and Monaragala. It is located about 300 kilometers (190 mi) from Colombo & usually takes about 3 ½ hours to get to the park entrance.
